Racial abilities in The Elder Scrolls Online. The Elder Scrolls Online, story, races and alliances Racial bonuses the elder scroll online

One of the features of classes in - that they do not limit players to certain behaviors, abilities and equipment. Thanks to this, you can create a unique character, regardless of what species he belongs to. Even the most demanding and captious user will be able to find an original character for himself, with the help of which he will discover an unforgettable world of valor and battles in TES Online.

How to choose a role?

The first thing the player will have to decide is what role his character will play in the battles:
  • Tank. The main advantage is a huge supply of health, and the combination with the Dragon Knight will be the most successful combination. For a character who is tanky, heavy armor, a shield, and a sword would be the best equipment.
  • Doctor. Emphasis on magic - its volume and ability to quickly recover. As for the perfect match with the class, there is no doubt that the Templar would be the best option. The armor for the healer should be light, and as a weapon it is most effective to use a staff of healing.
  • Damage dealt (DD). The development of abilities depends on which attacking force the player chooses - physical or magical. Despite the huge number of equipment options for DD, there are still certain limitations. When picking up armor, you need to stop at light or medium - heavy will not work. You can choose a staff in combination with light equipment and a bow, or a melee option in combination with medium-heavy armor. Any of the classes fit well with this role, but the Sorcerer and Nightblade fit a little more than the others.
It is worth noting that the character who inflicts damage on the enemy has a very difficult task in this game, which implies great responsibility. The success of the group depends on how well developed his abilities are and how well the equipment is selected, especially if it is aimed at completing a difficult quest.

How to choose a play style?

The style of play that seems closest to the player can help determine the class:
  • Warrior with good armor. Suitable for tanks. It involves wearing heavy armor, which has its pros and cons. Of the advantages, one can name resistance to damage, and of the disadvantages, stiffness in the choice of gear, leading to the inability to deal serious damage. A warrior will have to limit himself to a shield and a sword. The class for this variant could be the Dragon Knight.
  • Mage that applies negative effects. DD is exactly the role that suits this style of play. The equipment can be different, but if we talk about effective combinations, then you should choose light armor and a staff or medium, but combine it with a bow or melee weapon. Keep in mind that the Dragon Knight and Nightblade, who own magic, have the largest amount of negative effects that they can use on the enemy.
  • Wizard fighting with magic. The role for the character will be to deal damage. Light armor is suitable for him, because only it gives a bonus to magic. It should be supplemented with a staff of destruction, this is not necessary, but it will be the best option. The nightblade is far from magical skills, so it is undesirable to give preference to it.
  • A fighter who can summon creatures. DD is most suitable for a fighter. Gear can be different, the only thing to avoid is the staff of healing and heavy armor. Since only Sorcerers have the ability to summon creatures, only this class suits this style of play.
  • A robber armed with daggers. His role is to deal damage. For him, you need to pick up medium armor, which gives a bonus of strength and dual weapons. In this case, the Nightblade class is perfect.
  • Archer. DD suits such characters. To get a bonus in the form of a reserve of strength, you need to stop at medium armor, but everything is clear about weapons - a bow is best. The archer is most harmoniously combined with the Nightblade.
  • A warrior who fights with a melee weapon. This option is combined with damage. Equipment for him can be medium-heavy equipment, and weapons - any kind suitable for close combat, with the exception of a shield and a sword. Suitable for absolutely any hero.
  • Healer. The role for this style of play is very predictable - the healer. The healer character has limited equipment, light armor and a staff of healing will do. The most optimal class would be the Templar, the Wizard is also good, but still less effective.

How to choose a class and race?

This is an important step and is made a little easier by the fact that The Elder Scroll Online has only four options:
  • Dragon Knight;
  • Nightblade;
  • Wizard;
  • Templar.
The Knight is a typical fighter who will suit both the role of a tank and a damage dealer. In the first case, the emphasis will be on stamina and health, in the second - on inflicting fire damage. It is important that the player will be able to change the source for energy consumption so as to spend stamina or strength, but not magic. Thanks to the characteristics inherent in this class, the character will have the ability to self-heal. For those who prefer the Dragon Knight, when choosing a race, it is advisable to proceed from the role:
  • the tank will suit the race of imperials or nords;
  • the damage dealer should look out for Dunmer, Bretons, High Elves. Dunmers are also suitable for tanks, because they have bonuses not only to magic, but also to physical strength.
Blades are the only class that has the ability to become invisible, hide in the shadows, or inflict a sneak attack. They do an excellent job of inflicting damage to the enemy, they themselves know how to heal. There are no special race selection features in this case, but it is better to choose one that has good bonuses to stealth and critical damage. Wizards are good at magic and can summon pets to help in combat. When creating a hero, preference can be given to both the DD and the healer. Any variant you like can become the Wizard's race, having bonuses to the use and restoration of magic. Templars are a very versatile class, as they can fill many different roles, but the healer will be the most successful option. As for the race, the player is not limited here either, so it’s worth choosing it, taking into account the role and style of the character’s play. The game has many features, so properly selected characteristics and features of the character will help

One of the questions that keeps popping up is "What is the best race and class choice in The Elder Scrolls Online?" It really depends on what class and what role you want to play. If you want a really short answer, this post is for you.

Class Magicka DPS Endurance DPS Hill Tank
dragon knight dunmer Khajiit Breton North
Night Sword Altmer Khajiit Breton Argonian
sorcerer Altmer Khajiit Breton Breton
Templar Altmer Khajiit Breton imperial
The keeper Altmer Khajiit Breton North

Race choice doesn't affect your build, it's "your skill, your time in the game, and continuous improvement. However, there is some math behind these racial choices and they will affect your play. In the end choose what you like, while it matters it won't make or break your build.

NOTES:

  • For magical DPS, Altmer vs Dunmer is a very controversial choice. Basically, you deal a bit more damage (in Dunmer) and regenerate resources better in Altmer. I prefer Altmer in everything.
  • For tanks, Nord is now getting stamina in the ESO 2.5 update, they already have health and powerful damage reduction, making them available to most tanks. The Imperials are also a good choice for sheer massive stats and flexibility if you're playing other roles, while the Argonians Nightsword makes a juggernaut tank.
  • For pure healing, I still love the Breton, although the Altmer might be the choice.
  • For PvP, I love Khajiit's stamina for ganks, Orc's for speed. For magical builds, I prefer Breton with Altmer for spell resistance, which helps if you're playing vampire.

Best choice for flexibility, Dunmer, Imperials, Argonians.

Class combinations with race:

Dragon Knight
Dunmer Dragon Knight DPS (or PvP)
Northern Tank Knight
Redguard or Khajiit for stamina DPS
Orc for solo PvP is a must!

Night Sword
Altmer Nightsword for DPS
Argonian Nightsword for Tanks
Sword of Night Khajiit for PvE DPS or PvP

sorcerer
Orc for stamina in PvP and Khajiit for PvE DPS
High Elf magicka Wizard for PvE and/or Breton Dunmer for PvP

Templar
Templar Breton for healer (or Argonian for PvP healer)
Dunmer for pure magic DPS or Altmer for support
Imperial tank due to huge damage shield (flaming shield)
Redguard for persistent DPS stamina, Khajiit for PvE Trials and Orc for PvP solo stamina

Concerning racial "abilities" in the game.

General information

All skill trees in races have the same number of passive skills; the character has the first of them initially: it is a 15% bonus to the experience gained for using a certain type of weapon or armor - thereby the player quickly masters the corresponding line of skills.

This racial ability is linked to the lore of the series. The Elder Scrolls, with the history of the race and its martial and cultural traditions. However, when choosing a race, it would be unwise to focus on the first passive: in the end, any player will be able to upgrade the desired weapon or armor to the maximum - it just takes more time without a bonus. Thus, the so-called. the racial bonus is of some value only in the initial stages of the game - but not in the long run.

In addition to the racial bonus, there are three passives, each of which can be developed by investing experience points in it. These racial skills do not unlock immediately.

Schedule for opening access to racial skills(information regarding level 20 and above needs to be confirmed):

Roles in combat

Even a superficial look at racial abilities makes it easy to see that some of the peoples of Tamriel are more suited to fulfill a particular role in combat than others. Namely:

The best tanks

redguards: increased stamina regeneration, on the stock of which blocks, rolls, interruption of control depend.

Nords: Higher maximum health, bonus to armor rating and health regen.

Orcs: Like the Nords, they have good health recovery skills, and also have increased health and stamina.

The best casters

Altmer: Increased mana and mana regeneration, additional elemental damage.

Bretons: Increased mana, reduced cost to cast spells. If the Altmer, due to their increased damage of the elements, is more suitable for the role of an attacking mage, then the Bretons can become indispensable healers.

Dunmer: Definitely, they are champions in casting “fire” spells, and belonging to the Dragon Knight class and the fiery Staff of Destruction can further increase the already impressive fire damage; increased mana is also very useful for this role.

The best melee

Khajiit have the most suitable abilities for this role: increased critical rating for melee attacks, increased damage from a successfully landed critical hit. Increased stealth damage and increased health regeneration come in very handy here too.

redgrads: Yes, they are again. Impressive stamina regeneration abilities are extremely important for a melee, as it allows for efficient use of melee weapons.

Best shooters

Khajiit: Their abilities listed above will come in handy here too: the available crit bonuses make the Khajiit better marksmen than the Bosmer. However, if Zenimax Online removes the influence of the racial skills of the Khajiit on the bow, then, of course, the Bosmer will become the “champions”.

Of course, you noticed that Bosmer, Argonians and Imperials are not mentioned among the "champion races" for performing a certain combat role.

Bosmer were not included in the list of "favorites" of combat gameplay, as they were completely eclipsed by the Khajiit, who have almost similar, but more impressive bonuses.

Argonians- an excellent choice for a role player, but they do not have any skills that make representatives of this race indispensable in a group battle. (Of course, it is possible that in the time remaining before the release, the developers will slightly revise and adjust the effectiveness of the races.)

Concerning imperials, so far, one can only speculate about their racial abilities. One of them is that their bonuses will be mainly related to health, mana and stamina - or their regeneration speed.

I offer you brief information about the races. The information was present on different sites, so it is difficult to establish the championship. Slightly enhanced and slightly embellished.

First, you need to have an understanding of the basic structure of racial abilities in TESO. Each race receives the same number of possible racial "passives", the first of which is given to each new character immediately. The first ability is a 15% bonus to experience gained when leveling a specific weapon or armor skill line. This ability is consistent with the race's lore and image and cultural preferences, but it will not be an important factor in determining the "best" race for you. In the long run, everyone will get 50 points in each weapon and armor skill line. So while it's a useful leveling advantage, tier 1 passives aren't valuable in the long run.

Each of the three subsequent passives has three ranks that become more powerful as skill points are invested in them. Not all racial passives can be unlocked at once. In fact, your character in TESO has an entire "racial" skill line that develops as you level up. Starting at level 5, only the first rank of the first passive will be available to you. The structure of the development of passive abilities will be as follows:

Level 0 - Free XP Bonus
Level 5 - Passive 1, rank 1
Level 10 - Passive 2, rank 1
Level 15 - Passive 1, rank 2
Level 20 - Passive 2, rank 2
Level 25 - Passive 3, rank 1
Level 30 - Passive 1, rank 3
Level 35 - Passive 3, rank 2
Level 40 - Passive 2, rank 3
Level 50 - Passive 3, rank 3

Each additional rank of racial passives will increase the effectiveness of their associated bonuses. At the moment (due to the 1-15 level limit in the beta), we can only accurately state the first rank of each of the passive abilities. The strength of the next ranks at the moment can only be guessed based on how passive 1 evolves to rank 2 at level 15.
